Figuring out this problem has become like a second job for me. Running Xfce with the latest kernel; I uninstalled xfce4-power-manager to try to address an issue where the system is going into a hybrid-sleep state, then waking up immediately when the battery gets to a presumed critical level. This had no effect. I am not running pm-utils, or laptop-mode-tools. I have no udev rules written in /etc/udev, and I can't find anything in /usr/lib/udev that looks like a default rule. The system is going into a suspend-like state with no power manager installed, then waking up on it's own. Intuitively, I would think these are two seperate problems, but I fear they may be related. Now, when I write a udev rule to execute "systemctl suspend" at a certain battery level, the same thing happens. The system will suspend at the correct battery level, but then wake it's self back up immediately. The only thing I have been successful in doing is to create a udev rule to send the system directly into hibernation, though I have had a couple of instances where it seemed as though my rules were ignored, though most of the time it worked. This is not a desirable method because if I am in a situation where my system goes into hibernation with little battery power left, the system will refuse to wake. Often when this happens, I really just need to start it back up so that I can quickly send an email, or close some other task, then shutdown the system manually.
