VMware 5.0 Install

Hi all,

I followed the Wiki page regarding the install of VMWare 5.0 and I found that it is missing an important piece.  I've always had to apply a patch to the version of VMware I'm running to get the network module to compile.  I didn't see that in the Wiki page --is it just me or do others do this as well?

See this link for the patch: http://www.vmware.com/community/thread. … 7&tstart=0

I was quite happy to see the system had everything I needed to install VMware-- like the kernel headers.  I can't say the same about most other distros.

Re: VMware 5.0 Install

You could use the vmware pkgbuild in aur in the future. But yes, it also applies this patch.

It's a wiki, feel free to edit it to include this. But frankly, I don't know why the wiki entry is even needed since it's in aur.
