Suspend hangs with USB audio device plugged in

Suspending my laptop and resuming works as expected except when I have my external audio interface (a Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1) plugged in via USB.  In this case, trying to suspend causes the screen to go black and the laptop to remain on but become unresponsive.  I am forced to turn it off and back on.

This doesn't happen when other usb devices are plugged in, like external hard drives.  That works fine.

I'm not sure how to start diagnosing this problem (files or logs to look at), but would appreciate any tips.

Specs:
HP dv7t quad
Intel i7-2630QM 2.0 GHz
8GB RAM (13GB swap)
3.14.4-1-ARCH x86_64

Have you checked the journal as to what happened during the suspend?  Run journalctl as root.

Re: Suspend hangs with USB audio device plugged in

I'm not sure if I can see anything helpful there.  The log is exactly the same for the unsuccessful suspend up until it hangs and I reboot the system as for a successful suspend.

Successful suspend:
