how do I disable hybrid-sleep?

Greetings,

I was wondering if there is a way to disable hybrid-sleep without disabling hibernation. Upower is putting the machine into the hybrid sleep according to it's configuration, and I need to stop this foolishness because it just wakes right back up on it's own. This is necessary to me because if I'm using another service to suspend or hibernate the system, it's a toss up as to which one will pick up the acpi event first. Hybrid sleep seems to be the only command not deprecated with Upower, so if there's a way to disable that, it would be nice.
