how about a sidebar with recent updates, current Package Lists and current news for Opera/Firefox-Browser?

This is a community, feel free to make your own. RSS is available for the news and package info, and it wouldnt take much effort to write a simple script or even just upload a html page to render it all properly.

When you create a poll, it gives you the option to limit the number of days it will run. By default, it will never end, but posters can specify whatever number they want...
