anthy not appearing as ibus method

I have installed anthy and ibus-anthy.  The ibus control widget is appearing in my
top-of-screen panel.  (I am using XFCE4)

But when I run ibus-setup to select the Input Method, and pick "Japanese" from the
pulldown, "Anthy" does not appear as one of the choices;  just something called "Japanese".

How does ibus-anthy register itself so that ibus-setup knows to offer it as a choice?
