Hi, I support packaged SAGA GIS software [1], great tool for geographic information system. The latest versions of the software produced an error with the current and official distribution of wxWidgets (v3.0.0), whose solution was reported on [1] and [2]. Therefore, we need to offer a new version of wxGTK3, disabling the option --enable-stl.
Yesterday I was notified via email notify@aur.archlinux.org that wxGTK3 package [4] was deleted with the message:
'Barthalion deleted "wxgtk3". You will no longer receive notifications about this package. '
I would like to know what was the reason for removing this package wxGTK3? and how it could solve the problem of compiling SAGA GIS without having configured this package of wxGTK3?
Regards,
Samuel Mesa.

From the pkgname, it would have appeared to be a duplicate of wxgtk, which is forbidden. At the very least, you need to make it clear what the difference is.
Have you tried requesting that the official package be changed? No idea if it would go anywhere, but you can try.

--enable-stl was added in wxgtk 3.0.0.-2 , https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit … e816f6ffde .
geosam, i agree with scimmia.
Contacting wxgtk maintainer (either through a bugreport or directly) seems best option.
If --enable-stl can't be removed from official wxgtk, you could then upload a new package to aur called something like wxgtk-no-stl .

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

In the comments of the package of SAGA GIS [1] we made the task of contacting the developer of the package, here the comment of one contributor:
"I did email the package maintainer and they said they could "absolutely" not submit a new package without --enable-stl
I'll watch your bug report though.
It may create a push for saga developers to update their entire code base for STL compatibility... But they are hesitant to do that as well. "
Thanks for your answers and suggestions, I created a new package [2] with the name suggested by Lone_Wolf: wxgtk3-no-stl
