Changing wallpaper in Gnome 3 using CLI.

Trying to figure out how to do this the same thing pops up while googling, but it doesn't seem to work.

Is there any reason this doesn't do anything?

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background picture-uri file:///path-to-file

Not sure about gnome, but I wrote a little script that does with with xfce4 and randomizes the list of papers.  Works great: https://github.com/graysky2/backdrop-randomizer

Looks cool, here is the an equivalent bash script for Gnome3, it's not random though, it just cycles.

It's supposed to work, but for me it does nothing.
