Touchpad blinks (Toshiba Satellite A665).

Hello,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A665; normally, the keyboard and touchpad can be backlit, but I've never been able to make that work outside of Windows (I ran Debian before Arch), and I've given up quite some time ago.

But now, since yesterday (after I upgraded, I think), the touchpad's illumination blinks slowly. I've seen quite some information about the backlight not working in Linux, but nothing on the touchpad actually blinking, so I'm a bit lost.

For the record, I've done this (in root):

echo "1" > /sys/class/leds/toshiba::illumination/brightness

I'm not even sure why I did that, but anyway it nicely illuminated the logo at the bottom-left corner of the computer, but nothing else. I've searched /sys/class/leds, but I don't really know what I'm looking for.
