I have a t43 ibm thinkpad and whenver I boot arch it loads but has this error , nsc-ircc, Wrong chip version ff .
Sometimes arch wont start and I would have to reboot it a few times to get it to boot properly.
How do I fix nsc-ircc, Wrong chip version ff?
It is a very uncommon error and has been happening ever since the 3.14 kernel update.

This infrared error is the cause of your system not being able to boot sometimes?, I highly doubt that, but, never say never.
You could disable infrared in your BIOS altogether, wait for a fix, googling around would have brought you all the answers too, and not that uncommon...

Thanks, that fixed it, I just went into the BIOS and disabled infrared mode, but it was labeled as hidden so I thought it was off. When I looked it up all there was , were mailing lists with no responses.
Thanks again mate.
