KDE seems to be partially borked up after I did a recent upgrade.
Everything seems to be fine, then I just close the laptop (I guess it goes to sleep).. when I wake it back up, the system bar/panel of each UI application that was open just goes away.
Eg: If I had a chromium window open before, now the system bar would just have disappeared.
Known issue? Nobody else has hit this?

I have upgraded kdebase-workspace too but everything seems OK. Except of the issue when i log in my windows when dragging around were somewhat tearing but that was because upgrade switched from Opengl to Xrender. When i changed it everything is OK again.
You should tell your comp specs and post your Xorg log.
EDIT 1: I am taking my previous statements back. I experience the same problem as you. Soon i will post the logs.
My specs are: i686, Intel integrated graphic card, ASUS k50ij laptop, Dual core centrino.

Similar (I think) problem here, it seems KDE's widget style has disappeared somewhere. If you go to System Settings -> Application Appearance, there in widget style there is CDE, CleanLooks, GTK+ style, MS Windows 9x, Motif & Plastique. Didn't there used to be oxygen widget style too? My widget style was automatically changed to CDE, the first one in list.
Maybe that is why the systembar/panel is disappearing. Unless I have understood your problem completely wrong, in that case, let me know so that I can start a separate thread.

I updated again today. Saw there was a kde-base update.
Issue seems to have been fixed now. Are you guys seeing this too?
After a day or so of use, I'll close the thread if that has fixed it.

Anybody still seeing this issue?

Anybody still seeing this issue?
It turned out my issue was completely different, found a solution in an old post. So, if your issue is fixed, you can go ahead and just close it.

Well, i am still from time to time experiencing the issue. The xorg file:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-UMoB … sp=sharing
Potential problems:
(EE) intel: Failed to load module "dri3" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) intel(0): Failed to submit batch buffer, expect rendering corruption: Invalid argument.
