Hi,
For some reason, I have to configure a system with cz_CS locale, ISO8859-2 charset. In this system, I used jwm and xterm.
In xterm, `date` returns a correct date string. But with JWM clock in tray, all chars from the first non-English char (like one with accent) are gone. I tried fluxbox, all gone. I tried qtile, all non-English chars are rendered as a blank rectangle.
xlsfonts shows iso8859-2 fonts.
I switched the system to cz_CS.utf8, everything was correct. But I have to use ISO8859-2.... What should I do?

I believe it's supposed to be cs_CZ, not cz_CS. So try cs_CZ.ISO8859-2. Btw I can't really see why you can't use UTF but okay...

Ah, yes. Sorry, it is cs_CZ. I have tried cs_CZ.ISO88592 (listed by locale -a), all the same.
The reason UTF could not apply is that, the display may be alright, but the input may be different with iso8859, which may affect background database, data analyzing, etc.
