[SOLVED] Polkit authentication problem after last update

After the last update I had to merge /etc/group and /etc/passwd with the new pacnew config files. I haven't yet updated the /etc/shadow file since there seems to be some confusion about how this file should be handled. My problem is that after this update, whenever I try to use a program through polkit I am only given an option to authenticate with the root password when  before  I was given a list of users from the wheel group.  I have tried setting rules in rules.d folder as the wiki for Polkit suggests but haven't been able to get the wheel list back. Anyone suffering from this or does any one have any advise?

Thanks

Re: [SOLVED] Polkit authentication problem after last update

OK I tracked it down. It appears the /etc/group 's permissions where set so the polkit user could not gain the list of users belonging to wheel. After setting permissions accordingly, polkit now behaves as expected.
