Recently I wanted to get my head around all the terminal colors stuff. Switching
between colorschemes and trying to customize them. Over the course of it I've
gradually end up writing my own scripts to automate the process. Later I've
decided to make them more generic. I think similar functionality can be found
elsewhere but then in tools I was trying out there was always something
missing. So there.
tcolors - get / set terminal ANSI colors (palette, foreground, background, cursor)
tcolors-gtk - simple GTK interface for tcolors
tcolorsinfo - test terminal ANSI colors
tcolorsinfo8 - tcolorsinfo wrapper for quick test of base 8 colors
Following above link you can also read how I manage colorschemes now. I use
several of them on different occasions and then also depending on lighting
conditions. I have a simple vi-like scroller script to quickly switch between
them.
