Sort files on disk

Hello,

yeah, the subject sound really stupid and so it it.

Some mp3 players (like my new car) sort the mp3 files not by name (may it be artist or file name) but in the order they appear on disc (you can get this order using ls -f). Since Amarok transcode works multithreaded it does not necessarily writes the file in order. Is there a tool that sorts the file on the disc in alphabetic (like plain ls) order?

The filesystem is VFAT on an usb stick.

A way would be to move all the files off the stick and copy them back in order. Is there a way to sort the files in place? Any other ideas?

Thx a lot!
