bbswitch always reports ON

I've got a Lenovo W540 with an NVidia Quadro K2100M and I'm trying to finalize my system configuration. Most things are working, however I've run into something strange - bbswitch is always reporting ON.

Kernel version is 3.15.4-1-ARCH.

When I attempt to use optirun, things work correctly and I get some very nice framerates with glxgears. However, as soon as optirun is done, I see messages informing me that the NVidia driver cannot be unloaded:

This looks remarkably similar to the thread Bumblebee nvidia problems. What's different is that I'm not using a custom script to auto-adjust brightness. Also, when I look at
systemctl, I see a segfault:

sudo systemctl status bumblebeed.service

I've followed the wiki for the bumblebee configuration. And I've hit the limit of my troubleshooting.

I'm using lightdm and XFCE. After XFCE is loaded, it starts the following:

  • A few XFCE panels

  • Chromium

  • dropbox

  • pidgin

  • shutter

  • solaar

  • synapse

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
