Thinkpad X60 Tablet Pen Input

Has anyone had success in getting the Thinkpad X60 (or any convertible thinkpad for that matter) pen input working properly? This page links to an AUR package that is three years out of date, and even after installation the provided xorg config seems to do nothing, even after a reboot.

Is there another generic article covering this topic that I'm perhaps missing?
