Re: amule error: Cannot get the official hostname

amule works fine for me.

Do you have the ports necessary for amule opened ?

Another possibility :
check your /etc/hosts file for a line like this :
127.0.0.1        localhost.localdomain    localhost julius

Some programs need to have 127.0.0.1 linked to the name you give your pc in rc.conf, mine is called julius.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

Re: amule error: Cannot get the official hostname

that did it: i just put my hostname to the end of the line - this shouldn't hurt anything other shouldn't it?

Re: amule error: Cannot get the official hostname

X gave an error 'unknown host' until i added this, so i think it's safe to assume it doesn't hurt anything.
