After updating Eclipse to Luna, I was able to start Eclipse fine once, but the second time and from thence onward I am not able to get it to work. (I can't remember if I saw another update to eclipse or not.) The Eclipse splash screen pops up for a few seconds, then is replaced with an error dialog with the following message:
"An error has occurred. See the log file
/home/user/.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_4.4.0_1543616141_linux_gtk_x86_64/configuration/1405349955456.log."
The error log output is here:

At first I thought it might have been a plugin that broke, so I uninstalled all my Eclipse plugins and reinstalled Eclipse, no dice.
Edit: Slight formatting difficulties.

So I tried installing eclipse directly from eclipse.org, and it worked fine, so I think it's an issue with the package. I started a bug report for it, it can be found here: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/41210

Ah, I got it. When I tried reinstalling eclipse, I forgot to remove my .eclipse folder. Removing ~/.eclipse and *then* reinstalling solved the problem.

Thanks a lot! I couldn't make sense out of the error logs... In the end, it was too easy again!
