Unknown hotkeys (asus_wmi, acpi?)

Hi,

on my laptop, I have a couple of function keys or hotkeys that is not recognized.

When pressing Fn+F2 (wifi/bluetooth), nothing happens, but this shows up in dmesg:

[49171.972211] ACPI Error: [_OSI] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND (20140214/psargs-359)
[49171.972223] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.LPCB.EC0_._Q0B] (Node ffff880215c42208), AE_NOT_FOUND (20140214/psparse-536)

And Fn+F8 shows this absolutely nothing.

There is also a ambient light sensor with a dedicated function key to it (Fn+A) which in Windows is used to control the backlight automatically when there is need for it.

Fn+A shows:

[49301.810607] asus_wmi: Unknown key 7a pressed

I should also note that there is a dedicated LED indicator for the WIFI which never lits up, but works fine in Windows. On my previous laptops, this was working fine and indicated correctly on the status of the wifi. This now doesnt light up even though the wifi is working correctly.

Is this fixable? If not, where can I report the bug? Is it directly to the kernel developers or is it some other driver?

The hardware in question is a Asus UX51VZH laptop. Didnt know if this should be posted in the laptop section or the kernel/hardware..

Thanks

Re: Unknown hotkeys (asus_wmi, acpi?)

Did you add

acpi_osi=Linux

to your bootparameters?

Re: Unknown hotkeys (asus_wmi, acpi?)

I followed the dedicated instructions on the arch-wiki on this laptop, and that was to add "acpi_osi=". Before that, backlight keys did not work.

But I have tried that, but having no control over my backlight brightness is not an option for me unfortunately, even though other keys may or may not work.
