Hi! What is plasmashell memory consumption on your system? Starting with ~100MB I have got ~830MB at the moment. Memory leak?
Nouveau driver is in use, if it takes matter.
My memory compsumption is around 540MB at the start of the session (64 bits system and radeonsi driver)
Excuse my poor English.

Is it overall consumption or plasmashell process consumption only?
"I exist" is the best myth I know..

Hmmm sorry, I misread your message. It´s overall consumption.
plasmashell only 111MB.

Is it me, or the new version of Kmail is completely broken ? It struggles really hard to display emails, I spend my time doing "akonadictl restart" several times in a row to make it display emails finally...
edit : the version in Testing.

From time to time I look at KMail2 (remembering excellent KMail). Lat time - yesterday - I have tried to import emails. Importing wizard shows messages were imported, but folders are empty. KMail2 is still the most magic application for me. Black magic...

This should be fixed in 15.12

I've also mysteriously lost some emails with this "new and improved" KMail. It isn't as reliable as the old KDE KMail. I've switched to Claws Mail which hasn't let me down so far.

Why do you guess these simple widgets can influence the issue? Were there similar precedents?
I've had some major crashes due to plasmoids in the very early days of KDE 5. Therefore, I wouldn't rule out other problems like memory leaks. I mean those plasmoid crashes themselves were due to access violations I guess, so who knows. No more plasmoids for me!

All backbends are in the akonadi package. I'm asking which one you're actually using. Check akonadiserverrc

I'm sorry, I don't know where that is.
edit : I have this :

Name=akonadi

That looks alright. Try backing up and removing .local/share/akonadi so it resyncs everything again

Anyone found a solution to java apps at system tray?
Jdownloader2 and vuze after everything I tried still remain visible (although Vuze's size varies from normal to tiny) but not clickable.
On mouse over both are recognized for what they are and that's all.

I think the systray just is that buggy for now. Liferea for example doesn't appear in the systray, but when attempting to click the new "cashew" menu in the upper left, the liferea button seems to be invisibly above it.

I am fully up to date with plasma 5 and I see that if you have a panel launch icon such as konsole on the panel - then clicking that icon starts the application but the icon then goes faded - hovering the cursor over the icon returns it to its full non-faded state. Is this a feature that others have observed also? I have this on four different systems running plasma. Is it a feature or a bug? It is not a big deal but just one of those things that I'd prefer to see the icon not change it's colour state if clicked.
Edit: on one machine an update this afternoon seems to have resolved this - hovering does change hue of the icon to a slightly faded version but moving the cursor away again returns it to full colour. I'll have to check if the same is true on my other machines but can't do that today.

Anyone know how to set spectacle to show after pressing the Print Screen key? After update to 15.12 it doesn't show up like ksnapshot did.

Currently it takes a snapshot and puts up a notification that it has put it into ~/Pictures/Screenshotxxxxxxxxx. After changing the settings for this application via the K menu -> utilities and opening the application manually I tried to set it to capture a rectangular region via mouse click to activate but there is no change to behaviour.
Edit: entered upstream report at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356947

For me, it doesn't do anything on pressing PrtSc - I knew I shouldn't have replaced KSnapshot so early after release of spectacle...
I also noticed that my xembedsniproxy is segfaulting on every boot, but that was already reported.

On my laptop PrtSc needs the shift button pressing with it - just thought I would mention....

In that case it behaves the same way for me. With only print screen button nothing is happening, and with shift button it only saves screen picture without starting spectacle what is expected behaviour giving what is written in its documentation: https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/kderevie … apture.pdf

That's a different shortcut. PrtSc should open the application, Shift+PrtSc should take a screenshot and save it to the Pictures folder automatically without any interaction.

You may have to remove leftover ksnapshot entries from .config/khotkeysrc

I've just removed the file and print screen button is working now (I was expecting that my custom shortcuts will disappear but they still works, they defined probably somewhere else).

I removed that file also - and it did fix the PrtSc button behaviour but had other behavioural changes as a result with konsole and system settings which did not then have consistent window decorations... I had to fiddle and change settings and go back after "Applying" each change - after some fiddling it now does work - so it would be nice to know a cleaner way to fix the spectacle issue.
