Hi
I purchased a Parrot Zik recently (amazing headset) and I've been toying with it a bit. I have hit several issues in the quest to get them to work, however.
First of all, my broadcom integrated bluetooth chip would not be recognized by the kernel at all. The following fixes it, but I have to do it every reboot. Any more permanent solution? (Or better yet, upstream solution?)
echo "0b05 17cf" >> /sys/bus/usb/drivers/btusb/new_idNext up: Sound. As of BlueZ 5.x, HSP/HFP profiles are no longer supported with BlueZ. That means microphones on headsets are not supported (sigh). I've downgraded to bluez4 (package in the aur with some modifications to include all of bluez-utils with it). A2DP works fine, but when I switch to HSP I get no audio at all (it doesn't seem to be a problem on Pulse's end, pavucontrol shows the sink receiving audio) and I receive no audio from the microphone either. It would look like BlueZ 4's HSP support is problematic...
Some logs follow.

You could use a custom systemd service maybe? Did you or anybody else notify upstream about this?

I don't think so, but I'm not sure which upstream that would be. Should it be added to the btusb module itself?

I fail to see a parameter for that in the output of modinfo btusb. I think it will come down to the kernel developers, but grepping through drivers/bluetooth I am not certain, you would have to search a little more, eventually ask.
