Either rebuild nVidia from ABS or wait for the new package currently in testing.
End Edit
Original post:
Like said, just installed and rebooted. X gives an error:
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'nvidia': Exec format error
And no network access with r8168.
I uninstalled r8168 and am now using kernel built-in r8169 for internet and am about to switch over to nouveau to see if I can get X back.

No problem with nvidia for me.

I'm on Nouveau now and my system is back to normal. I didn't need nVidia, one less proprietary blob.

No need to uninstall, just blacklist it for now and wait for an update.

I was at a console with no internet and no X. I was desperate man, those were hard times. Back in business now though - with a video driver which doesn't taint the kernel license.

NVIDIA propietary driver broken after the update for me too. I hope this to be solved as soon as always is. See you.

I had the same issue just now too. I installed nvidia-beta from AUR and it works.
Offline
Before I dumped nvidia overboard I did try to reinstall the package, did not work. I was using the official package in the repos, not AUR or such where people have reported reinstalling those fixed the issue.

Did you try rebuilding it?

I wonder why it's working for me. I'm using 340.24-2 from the repos. I saw the kernel update and rebooted afterwards without problems.
Linux archbox 3.15.7-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jul 28 20:06:17 CEST 2014 x86_64 GNU/Linux
EDIT: I see 340.24-2 is from [testing].

I don't know how to rebuild it. Perhaps link to the relevant wiki part please? I'm already Nouveau but other people reading this thread it might help.

Install the Arch Build System.
$ pacman -S abs
Download the PKGBUILD from the nvidia package.
$ abs extra/nvidia
It will download the files to your ABS Root specified in /etc/abs.conf
cd into the directory.
$ makepkg -si
Wait for it to build and install.

I'm on 304.xx and it broke for me too. Downgrading the kernel fixed it.
An ignorant man is one who doesn't know what I just found out.

ABS has a wiki article ...

Ok, didn't realize you meant ABS. That is something I've never really delved into, although I am familiar with its function. Thank you though, that gives people here who are stuck something to try.

The bug report I linked to already mentions abs :-)
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/41373
Description:
Upgrading the kernel to 3.15.7 causes the nVidia binary driver to no longer load. Recompiling it from abs and rebooting fixes the problem.

Thank you karol, updated title and first post.

Hi everybody. I'm using NVIDIA video card and my system seemed to be hit by the Linux 3.15.7-1 issue because after doing an update today and rebooting, I can no longer get past the last line from the boot screen that says:
OK ] Reached target Graphical Interface.
From what I understand, this could be solved by 1) installing nvidia-beta from AUR or 2) installing via ABS. Forgive my ignorance in asking but can someone suggest a way on how to go about doing either 1 or 2 without being inside gui like gnome? I hope I got my message across as english is not my native language.

Read the wiki article about ABS. GUI is not needed.

Thanks for responding Karol. I've read ABS. I think ABS needs one to at least have an access to a shell prompt and one's able to login. The problem is I can't because I get stuck at this message here

Can you switch to another tty?
Edit: Or change the way you boot so you boot to the tty.

Or use Arch as a Live environment, chroot into your system and, assuming the network works, use ABS or download the AUR package on another system, or a different Gui-fied Live environment (Fedora, Ubuntu, Chakra etc...), then download a PKGBUILD or Nvidia binary package. Afterwards re-boot using Arch Live (or use the Live environment you're currently on), chroot into your system and install as detailed above.
Edit: fixed for clarity (I hope).

Thanks for the inputs. I will try your suggestion and will post back the results here tomorrow since its already in the wee hours of morning here in my part of the world. (GMT +8) I hope I could get this one sorted out tomorrow.
@MoonSwan - Will try chrooting as well. Thanks! I'm a newbie at Archlinux. Been a user for just 7 months and this is the first major issue i had with it. The tradeoff of being on a bleeding-edge distro... Thank heavens I still have Debian Wheezy on another partition.

Issue resolve by downgrading to the last stable kernel linux-3.15-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz via chrooting using manjaro live. Now using Archlinux in posting this. Thank you very much for holding my hand. @karol, @moonswan.
