Hello,
First off, i'm not sure where I should post this, so feel free to move if it's in the wrong place.
Then, I'm trying to use PHC (phc-intel) to undervolt my cpu, which is a i7 3687U.
The installation and creation of the module ($ phc-intel setup) both seem to work fine, but when it comes to running the mprime-phc-setup script (from the wiki) the output is :
The PHC module doesn't seem to be loaded.I've tried
# modprobe phc-intelbut nothing changes (no error message, but "$lsmod | grep acpi" returns nothing). It also seems that the acpi_cpufreq module is not loaded ("$lsmod | grep acpi" returns nothing) but
# modprobe acpi_cpufreqdoes nothing either (no error message, but no module loaded)
So should i conclude that my cpu doesn't support phc, or did I do something wrong during the procedure ?
Any help will be highly apreciated ![]()

afaik PHC doesn't work with newer intel processors (at least sandy bridge and later shouldn't work).

So it is impossible to undervolt sandy brigde/newer processors ?

afaik with PHC it is impossible. May be possible from your bios.
although if I'm not mistaken, undervolting shouldn't make that big of a difference these days on modern cpus with deep sleep states.
