[Solved] Netflix pipelight DRM error (N8156-6205)

Hi Folks, i need help one more time

I've singned Netflix, then, i was researching how to install on my arch linux, i've downloaded and compiles netflix-desktop, pipelight, wine-silverlight and wine-browser-installer from AUR.

First, i've tryed to run pipelight on my native firefox browser, i've followed all instructions from arch wiki pipelight's page (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pipelight), changed wine installation directory to /opt/wine-silverlight.

But, when i've try to use netflix on my browser i've go the error N8156-6205.

Search on the internet, i found some solutions, first was to configures and change ~/.config/pipelight-silverlight5.1, i've changed the path to wine to

winePath            = /opt/wine-silverlight

Then, i've found that pipelight need xattr on partitions, added the option on all my hard drives, rebooted the system and use WineHQ's test:

and received a nice It's Work!.

I've also found that some plugins like HTTPSEverywhere that i use, can conflict, i've disabled all my related plugins (AdBlock, HTTPSEverywhere and HideMyAss) leaving only plugins that is really difficult to interfeer (Firebug, DownThenAll and GNotifier and the necessary User Agent Override).

I've overrided to Firefox 29 on Windows, i'm not sure if there's some difference.

Then, after trying everything that i've could found, i've tryed to run the netflix-desktop client, and, for my surprise, same problem.

Right now i really gave up and you're folks are my last shot, i gonna download a ThinPC version of windows, install on virtualbox, put firefox/netflix on boot and pretends that this is a good solution until i found some light. Oh, and i'm trying to compile silverlight again, i found somewhere that it's needed when you enable xattr, but, i don't put much faith, so, i'm already installing windows in the vm.

Oh, before i forgot, i already deleted the ~/.wine-pipelight folder like 10 times, every new solution, a new version of ~/.wine-pipelight and a reboot on firefox browser.

Really thanks for any solution that anyone can provide.

I found the solution (kinda),

I added the pipelight repository, uninstalled all that i've installed before and installed pipelight from repository,

the official repo use wine-compholio, not wine-silverlight, and for some reason, that version works.

Before, you still need to add the xattr attributes in your hard drivers, just add user_xattr in all your fstab ext disks.

And you need User Agent Override, then, click in the DownArrow at the side of User Agent Override icon, click in preferences and at the end of the dialog's text add:

# Netflix
Firefox 15/Windows: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120427 Firefox/15.0a1
Safari/OSX: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_7_3) AppleWebKit/534.55.3 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1.3 Safari/534.53.10

Then, to run netflix, just select Firefox 15/Windows.

To fix my problem:

Add the follow repository to your pacman:

[pipelight]
Server = http://repos.fds-team.de/stable/arch/$arch

The uninstall all related to silverlight and pipelight:

pacman -Rscn wine-browser-installer wine-silverlight pipelight netflix-desktop

Close firefox:

killall -9 firefox

Install pipelight using pacman:

pacman -Syy
pacman -S pipelight

Remove wine-pipelight from your home folder:

rm -rf ~/.wine-pipelight

Remove the configuration file from your home's .config dir:

rm -rf ~/.config/pipelight-silverlight5.1

Enable Silverlight plugin:

pipelight-plugin --enable silverlight

Enable/Install mozilla plugin:

sudo pipelight-plugin --create-mozilla-plugins

Remove the file ~/.mozilla/firefox/{some-random-code}.default/pluginreg.dat

Reopen firefox and go to the page

about:plugins

to the installer create the prefix.

Check if Silverlight Plug-In is ok, without any problems.

Open www.netflix.com and enjoy your movies.
