conky display broken after recent update

Any one here has similar issue or know any solution?
After a recent system update, conky does not display correctly after suspen.
I have a line that shows the current time in my .conkyrc:

${font DejaVu Sans Mono:size=72}${time %H:%M}${font}

It should show the current time with a larger font.
Something like (large) 12 : 34
However, when I suspend my laptop and resume while running on battery, conky does not display the current time.
Instead it shows only the colon.
Something like (large)    :
where the position and arrangement are correct except that there's no number.

This happens only when running on battery.
When running on AC, it displays correctly after resuming from suspend.

It also only happens when the font attribute is applied.

I suspect this is related to the recent xorg/xf86-intel bug.

Thanks !!
