Looks like 2.14 beta2 (2.13.91) has been released:
http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/desktop/ … 1/sources/

Anyone feels the need to build this? tongue

Re: Gnome 2.14 Release

oke updated to beta2, next will be the rc...
- all apps that can use now use gstreamer 0.10
- everything is linked to dbus 0.60

so expect some programs to mis libdbus smile

things to do:
- ekiga (test and insert)
- gtk-engines (update)
- gucharmap (update)
- libgail-gnome(update)
- gstreamer(build all plugins)
- gdm (fix config stuff)
- gnome-screensaver(make it use xscreensaver)

Re: Gnome 2.14 Release

Blaavis: Is gnome screensaver a replacement for xscreensaver, or is it just a front end? (thought is was the former)

Re: Gnome 2.14 Release

Paul it is a replacement...

Blaasvis, Tosday's work haven't work good for me

[wael@nasreddine ~]$ pmount-hal /dev/sda3 /media/wael pmount-hal: error while loading shared libraries: libdbus-1.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[wael@nasreddine ~]$ totem
totem: error while loading shared libraries: libtotem-plparser.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Re: Gnome 2.14 Release

_Gandalf_:   smile Thanks for the answer. Wondering why Blaavis intends to make it use xscreensaver then...

Are there plans to package gnome power manager as well (even though its not part of 2.14)?

Blaavis: many thanks for your hard work!

make sure you installed totem + totem-plparser
pmount needs a rebuild against dbus 0.60

Re: Gnome 2.14 Release

about gnome-power-manager:
- you will need powersave from unstable.
- high chance it will be added with the gnome 2.14 release.

about gnome-screensaver
- make it depends because gnome-screensaver only has 4 screensavers.

about pmount
- it is now in gnome2.13 repo

Re: Gnome 2.14 Release

Blaasvis, gnome2.13 is quite unstable, panels were closing, totem doesn't want to launch (totem and totem-plparser were installed) also all python programs were dying, libcairopango (something like that) and all that was on upgrade/fresh install..

I am back to gnome 2.12 now coz i can't afford instability this week

BTW libxres must be in the dependecy of gnome-panel that is in extra, all who are new comers will have a weird gnome..

Re: Gnome 2.14 Release

Im also having some problems. Firefox kept crashing after i upgraded. I went back to 2.12 and everything is stable. Maybe later tonight i will upgrade again and try and determine the cause.

Exactly i forgot this one, firefox crashes it displays the same error as if you try to re-build totem-plparser something related to cairo-pango but i forgot it...
