This is great. Couldn't get the repo to work until after the update. Had some error with gnome-panel and some gnome-applets, on upgrades/fresh-installs. Works great now. Thanks.

Blaasvis, thanks for the Gnome beta packages. A few comments:
* new evince needs newest poppler (0.5.0)
* man-pages display in yelp doesn't work. maybe one needs to build with --mandir=/usr/man ?
UPDATE: Same thing for info-pages
* my panel doesn't come up automatically anymore, but i don't know why. also, the splash screen doesn't disappear (only when i click on it) - i think this means there's a problem starting some component. manually starting a panel however by just clicking in nautilus works fine.

Did you try with a new user?

Did you try with a new user?
No, but I deleted my ~/.gnome2/session file - that helped. Somehow, Gnome got confused by what was in there.

I found the solution for totem-xine, I installed totem-plparser from extra and it worked, is totem-plparser 1.3.91 needed for anything Blaasvis ??

Good news is that gnome beta arch packages are here, bad news is I can't visit that repo. Why simply put all gnome beta packages into testing repo so everybody can test them?

RC1 will go to testing... but not before monday, i guess unless JGC finds some time...

Well can't upgrade due to
[napoleon@archlinux ~]$ sudo pacman -Syu
error: unresolvable dependencies:
dbus-sharp: requires dbus=0.50
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...BUT a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn...that was fun!"
Offline
You need to rebuild dbus-sharp for dbus-0.60... here's the procedure
pacman -Rd dbus-sharp
pacman -S dbus # to update dbus to 0.60
download the PKGBUILD of dbus-sharp http://cvs.archlinux.org/cgi-bin/viewcv … cvs-markup and replace 0.50 with 0.60, regenerate md5sums and makepkg/install it... now run pacman -Syu again
P.S: binarie/PKGBUILD are in my Repo if you don't want to compile urself here

I just observed that I can no longer add appointments with evolution. No matter what date I enter it fails the date validation routine.
Can somebody confirm this?
Wonder whether it's a locale thing. I have en_IE.utf8, but I've had this for a while now.
UPDATE:
It is a locale thing, evolution validates the date string against the wrong locale. It can't even validate the dates it generated itself. Seems to be fixed in CVS though and should thus work again in RC.

I've build gnome 2.14 RC yesterday with ugraded package builds from blaasvis. Runs fine. Except three minor problems:
1. Gnomebaker seems not to be running, even after rebuilding glibc, gnomebaker, and other deps
2. Yelp is crashing
3. Session is not properly shut down, after restart first /tmp needs to be cleaned otherwise problem with 'panel already running'
Anyone tried this too and had similar problems?
Or any idea how to solve?
I've the packages on my cpu, but have I cannot upload them, sorry
Ow, another problem, don't know if it is related, but cannot get beagle daemon working, it quits after starting client.

Try
beagled --fg --deny-backend EvolutionDataServer
if it works then, please reopen bug #3965, or open a new one. Beagle never really worked with evolution-sharp. One needs to fix that.

Yes, it does fix things. I'll try rebuilding evolution-sharp before filing a bug report. I'll report my findings back here.
[edit]
evolution-sharp is not very willing to be rebuild
Anyway, filed a bug: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/4086
[edit2]
problem solved, see bug report for details

I first uninstalled the 2.13.91 repo as that one was quite unstable for me and reinstalled the 2.12 version from repo.
Then used blaasvis' pkgbuilds and changed the version numbers to the 2.13.92 release of gnome.
I did not have to use the -f flag (only for upgrading one package, gnome-user-docs I believe).
Offline
hmm well never use -f flag, it is not normal to use it, so i guess that made already some bugs for you as it may replaced some meta/scrollkeeper files... take a look at nautilus pkgbuild/install file
Tonight i'll compile 2.13.92

yes something can have gone wrong, I'll remove gnome totally, go back to 2.12 and then install again.
