Automatically logout during idle

My laptop has a problem that, when it is idle (with xscreensaver), after around half an hour, the laptop will be automatically logout to the login manager.
When the logout happened, it shows also the systemd services screen.

This is very troublesome if I am away and let my laptop to process something.

Does anyone know what is the cause and how to solve this?

Re: Automatically logout during idle

Perhaps X server is crashing?

Check /var/log/Xorg.0.log and ~/.xsession-errors.

Thank you. The .xsession-errors is empty. The Xorg.0.log and Xorg.0.log.old are overwritten. I have to wait for the next crash.

Does anyone have any idea what is that segmentation fault?

Re: Automatically logout during idle

The segmentation fault follows an DRM error (there is one DRM error even earlier). Googling for this error yields mentions of two GPUs - do you have some other GPU? Perhaps it has something to do with starting X server as user?

This crash seems to have happened shortly after the start of the X server, while you mentioned xscreensaver and an elapse of half an hour in your first post.

Re: Automatically logout during idle

After several days, the problem doesn't appear. I was just following the instruction in the wiki.
I disabled the vga in the grub.cfg. Then I added the i915 module in the mkinitcpio.conf and then mkinitcpio.
So far, the problem not yet appear. Need to test for more days.

Re: Automatically logout during idle

The problem still exists when I use the GLMatrix for the xscreensaver. When I change the screen saver to Black Screen Only, so far there is no problem.
