I'm trying to install ArchLinux on an old laptop using an USB. I can successfully load in up to the point it says something about "automatic login". Less than a second after the screen goes black; the system still sounds like it's doing heavy processing.
I am using an Intel Celeron 300 M, 512 MB of RAM, and no hard drive. Has anyone had this issue before and does anyone know how to fix it. (with hard drive it fails too)
So far I've tried to disable a KMS by appending video=SVIDEO-1:d and nomodeset as described in the Beginner's Guide on the Wiki. This did not change anything.

¿The problem is during the installation process?
if you can imagine it, ¡you can create it!
