I have never been able to get the java web plugin to work.
[root@arch ~]# pacman -Q | egrep '(jdk|java|google)'
ca-certificates-java 20140324-3
google-chrome 36.0.1985.125-1
icedtea-web-java7 1.5.1-1
java-common 1-3
jdk7-openjdk 7.u65_2.5.1-8
jre7-openjdk 7.u65_2.5.1-8
jre7-openjdk-headless 7.u65_2.5.1-8ln -s /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk/lib/IcedTeaPlugin.so /opt/google/chrome/plugins/did not work. There is no libnpjp2.so in /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk/jre/lib/amd64/ or an option to enable Java in chrome://plugins/

Chrome removed support for NPAPI plugins on Linux since version 35, and I there isn't PPAPI plugins for java yet (I believe). So java plugins don't work in chrome now.

I've got it working with Firefox so that's good enough. I mainly wanted it to manage Proxmox VE so now I don't have to run a Windows VM to manage other VMs.
