For the last few years I'm trying to develop a tool that is able to start and stop 'workspaces' or 'virtual desktops' including all windows and some other stuff. I probably could go on forever refactoring but for the last few months it works mostly stable.
It's not for you if you use a window manager with 'tags' like dwm but if you separate your tasks by desktop in a wm with 'dynamic virtual desktops' it will enable you to stop and restart them (even after a reboot).
While I use it for a long time there are probably no other users. I don't know if you understand the readme and there is no guarantee that it actually works Please ask if something is not clear or correct me if I'm wrong and be aware that this is my first release of anything.
It's locatet on github.
Up to now it is known to work with the tools listet on this github wiki page. But you should be able to add your own applications.
A PKGBUILD is on the AUR.

This sounds pretty nice. Do you mind uploading the pkgbuild to the aur for easier access?

Hi runical
Thank you for your comment, I will upload it to the aur at sometime, but somehow I think it needs one or two betatesters rc-testers before

Unfortunately, I have not had time to test your software. :s I'll let you know when I do. In the meanwhile, consider uploading as it will probably give you more testers.
