For the last few days now every time I try to play files that are wmv, asf and mov vlc crashes. The files work fine in dragon player and others but not in vlc anymore. All other filetypes like avi, mp4, mp3, mkv etc. for fine. Is there a bug in vlc ATM?
Here is the output from playing a wmv file
[af@andre ~]$ vlc

i tested a few wmv files myself, they give different errors but also segfault .
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
(A works at time B) && (time C > time B ) ≠ (A works at time C)

So it seems to be a bug then.

it's the same bug like this :
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/41369#comment126681
the solution is to rebuild the vlc package with the last version of ffmpeg, it's easy to do with makepkg/ABS,
but the vlc maintener seems on holidays, still no new vlc package

Fixed now after the update of vlc.
