Brother DCP-1512 printer

applications can't find printer

$ yaourt -Qm

$ dmesg

scanner working fine

$ scanimage -L

Can someone help me?

Is that application Libreoffice?  What is the output of lpc status   ?

Libreoffice can't find it too
output of lpc status  is empty

So, you have no working printers (lpc status is empty).   Is cups running? One does not need for cups (printing services) to be running in order to use sane (scanner services).

Until something shows up in the output of lpc status, everything else is moot.
