I cannot launch MariaDB after install

The error info is :
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2 "No such file or directory")

If systemd service fails to start then check journal, there should be additional information what is going on.

Did you do " # systemctl start mysqld " 1st?

then "# mysql_secure_installation"?
