[Solved?] Wacom Graphire4 Tablet sometimes registers clicks on hover

Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this question.

I have a (USB-based) Wacom Graphire4 Tablet, and have installed xf86-input-wacom as mentioned in the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wacom_Tablet.

The tablet seems to work except for one major problem: often times it will register clicks while my stylus is hovering over the tablet. I don't think it's a sensitivity issue because it doesn't seem to happen when the stylus is too close to the tablet, but only around some sort of sweetspot ~1cm away from the tablet. I've noticed this occurs more frequently when the stylus is away from the tablet and put near the tablet for the first time, somewhat like an "on stylus enter" event. I've experimented with xev and it does list a "ButtonPress" event when I hover my stylus over it. It probably isn't a hardware problem either as it works well in Windows.

I've tried looking around the internet, but was unable to find any solutions. I've experimented with running

xinput set-prop "Wacom Graphire4 4x5 stylus" "Wacom Hover Click" 1

(trying both values 0 and 1) but nothing changed. I was suspecting it might have something to do with this because it registered a double-click when I touched the stylus to the tablet. I've also played around with the "Wacom Enable Touch" property.

If anyone could help guide me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT:
I sort of got around this problem by setting the threshold to a larger number.

xsetwacom --set "Wacom Graphire4 4x5 stylus" Threshold 50

I don't know if this is the correct fix or not though
