Bold tags causing errors [solved]

Okay I am not sure if this is a forum issue or if its coming from my browser but there is strange goings on with bold tags.
I can do italics and I can do underline but the bold is just plain broken and is causing formatting issues.

Fine here as well.  It is likely your browser/system.  Does the bold just not show up, or what are the symptoms?

No the bold text shows up in other posts that are not mine but if I even attempt to put in the bold tag into my posts here the site claims that I did not pair the contexts.
For demonstration purposes I will use parentheses as if I use normal brackets the forum will give me an error.
I enter (b)bold text(/b) but when I hit the submit button I am getting an error that reads something along the lines of:
(b) is not paired by a (/b)

Thus the forum is not responding well to me entering bold text.
I may clear out my browser next see if that fixes things, but in case it helps here is my browser info:

Google chrome (built from AUR on arch) Version 37.0.2062.94 (64-bit)

It could be a config file or something, but I had to check if it was the forum or if it was me

Re: Bold tags causing errors [solved]

Could you have an extension installed that is causing the problem? I know of a couple of firefox extensions that interact with BB-powered reply boxes (mostly to provide auto-formatting), but I've never seen the problem that you're describing.

Sakura:-
Mobo: MSI MAG X570S TORPEDO MAX // Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @4.9GHz // GFX: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT // RAM: 32GB (4x 8GB) Corsair DDR4 (@ 3000MHz) // Storage: 1x 3TB HDD, 6x 1TB SSD, 2x 120GB SSD, 1x 275GB M2 SSD
