I remember struggling with this a lot in about 2002 when GPUs often only had one output, however I find myself in a similar boat once again. I want to run two DisplayPort monitors.
Before I invest in a second monitor or GPU, will it work? I currently have a 750Ti running one screen, this GPU cannot do SLI if it makes any difference, if I got another one + another monitor is the nvidia driver capable of running a screen on each that acts like two normal screens (being able to drag a window between them, have a window span across them... I remember this was difficult in the past)
I expect this would be much more difficult with an AMD or Intel GPU mixed with an nvidia one?

I don't have the hardware yet, I was hoping to find out whether it's possible before deciding whether to invest in it as I know it used to be problematic. More than likely it was solved 10 years ago but I'd just like confirmation ![]()

Newer devices are more likely to work better than older. You may have to use nvidia-xxxxx from repos or bumblebee something of this nature.
