every time i try to install indicator-datetime-bzr from the aur in yaourt it will not allow me because it says i a missing the dependency libdbusmenu (building from AUR)..........................
unfortunately i am unable to get that dependencie as far as i am aware. it specifcally tells me error: target not found: libdbusmenu in the terminal. i have other versions of libdbusmenu installed. many of them infact. none of them work...
in the terminal pantheon/indicator-datetime 12.10.2-5 & aur/indicator-datetime 12.10.2-5 (20) both fail to work on my system. they both give me errors (specifically it says where it should show the date: Date format not supported) when i tried to install those so i assume the one that will work is the one that says:
aur/indicator-datetime-bzr 13-1 (5)
A very simple clock. (Canonical Ayatana Project) <--- this is the one unfortunately that requires that dependency
i tried dconf editor which someone suggested in another arch forum might help with the message: date format not supported (in wingslim), well unfortunately no luck... i found it's configuration within dconf editor but none of them helped...
i could be wrong but i think that (indicator-datetime-bzr) is the only one that will work in pantheon arch but i could be wrong. all i know is it would be sweet to have this indicator in place. i was hoping someone could help me figure this out. if i could get that dependency or get the datetime indicator to work in pantheon arch would be really cool. thankx so much for the help in advance.
oh btw i am a big time newbie and a very slow learner please i know you guys are geniuses but i would appreciate your being a patient with me...

What if you change the depends line in the PKGBUILD to this
depends=('libindicate' 'libdbusmenu-glibc' 'ido')?

good try!!! unfortunately... even though it was my first time doing that after i edited the line you told me to do so, i got these results...
- libdbusmenu-glibc (building from AUR)
==> Continue building indicator-datetime-bzr ? [Y/n]
==> ------------------------------------------------
==>
==> Building and installing package
==> Install or build missing dependencies for indicator-datetime-bzr:
error: target not found: libdbusmenu-glibc
==> Restart building indicator-datetime-bzr ? [y/N]
==> -----------------------------------------------

THANKX! 4 your help friend... i think i might just need to wait for a better more updated pantheon, perhaps there is no solution. hence, it may be the fact pantheon just is not up to par yet. but idk i really am a noob, just a guess...

I just sent a few minutes trying to build it, but got hung up on libindicator. It tries to pull in gnome-common, and that is much to much feldercarp to allow on my system.

thankx again................... i kinda think your right. this is not essential to me. it appears to be wasted time as it is just to much trouble. i installed to much crap to get this working. now i am just going to call it quits and try uninstalling all this stuff i installed in the mean time. for now i shall assume pantheon just is not where it should be and needs more time to mature. serisouly you people on arch are awesome... thankx again for help. godbless!

i was looking at another site where someone suggested turning off show-date & show-day in dconf editor. it worked... i am now able to see a clock as my indicator!!!
