When I open Dolphin > Network > Samba Shares nothing appear:
However, if I manually enter smb://192.168.0.24 into the location bar I can successfully connect to my NAS without any problems.
What should I do to make Dolphin able to automatically discover network shares?

Are other clients able to discover those shares?

What I usually do to make accessing shares easy in my LAN is:
1. edit /etc/hosts and add the shares to it (eg: 192.168.1.20 domain.myshare myshare )
2. access the shares by smb://myuser@myshare
3. once I have logged in once I make a link (drag and drop the folder icon in the URL line) into the side bar (places)
From now on you will find your share in the side bar. Hope this helps.

Edit: You can also customize the side bar links to make the share names more meaningful. See this link image of my shares.

But it did work just fine in Dolphin on Kubuntu when I ran it previously. There has to be some solution to automatically discover network shares.
