'Invalid cross-device link" using ArchISO on BTRFS

Basically, if using ArchISO build.sh on a BTRFS partition it errors out with "Invalid cross-device link" when the script gets to the cp section. Moving the whole thing to an ext4 partition clears up the issue. This is not trying to cp between subvolumes as you can see from one of the actual error output lines:

cp: cannot create hard link ‘work/airootfs/root/.bashrc’ to ‘work/i686/airootfs/root/.bashrc’: Invalid cross-device link

Is this something that should be reported to the BTRFS devs or the ArchISO maintainers? How can I get more meaningful information about what is specifically causing the error?
