Can't delete files on a fat32 usb-drive

Using nautilus (or gnome files, whatever it's called nowadays), I can't delete files on a usb stick. In the right-click drop-down menu no option for delete is present, and pressing the delete key does nothing. To my understanding the issue is not with permissions, since fat32 doesn't support unix-like permissions. Also supporting this is the fact that the files can be deleted without problem from a terminal using rm.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with arch as such, but it does make the gnome experience under arch less than perfect.

As a side-question, is there a better file format I could be using on the usb stick? Bear in mind that the usb has to be usable on both windows and mac machines.
