I'm having some trouble with my current HP dm1 laptop (xf86-video-ati) running arch on latest kernel.
If I do something cpu/memory intensive like: going to a webpage with lots of video or compiling the kernel, the computer hard freezes. The mouse and keyboard no longer work and I cannot even soft poweroff the machine (I have to crash the machine by holding the power button). Additionally my usb wifi device loses the blue power led light. Haven't been about to get the hard freeze to happen without X running.
I'd like to work to diagnose what the issue is. My logs don't seem to show any related entries.
How would one go about getting to the bottom of this?
