[solved]VLC crash while playing rmvb video

I executed it from the terminal to find the error message

Been finding that vlc is not able to play any wmv files either... mplayer does though. Dunno a root cause.

I am not using VLC as root

I get the same on my system. Perhaps ffmpeg is to blame? Have you tried compiling it from git?

I can't build ffmpeg-git at all. In either case, perhaps you should open a bug report against ffmpeg?

I have installed yasm then i was able to build it

I understand... just wondering if you uninstalled the ffmpeg-full packages and tried the repo vlc if it also fixed your issue.
