[SOLVED] XBMC can't connect to the internet
I ran into this earlier and figured I'd post it here so it is indexed by search engines. After running updates recently, XBMC was no longer able to access the internet, aside from the python plugins which worked just fine. The log file showed a number of errors relating to cURL, here's a copy of the log file showing these errors: http://pastebin.com/gsf7hT8Z
There seems to be an issue with the recent cURL update (7.38-1). I downgraded to 7.37-1 and it now works just fine.
At this point, I'm not sure if this is an XBMC bug, or a cURL bug.

Thank you for this post. I've spent three hours trying to find out why it doesn't work and giving up eventually.

Thanks. This issue was also affecting my XBMC. I downgraded curl and it's sorted.

Thanks I just installed a fresh Arch system and then xbmc and had the same problem - I didn't have an older version of curl on my new system of course but it was easy to get from ARM and now xbmc is connecting to internet. 
You can like linux without becoming a fanatic!
