java 1.8 and java 1.7 coexist

Hi,

1st post. I'm using aur jdk 1.8 package. I'd like to install java 1.7 too to use a swing application that requires 1.7. Apparently that's not possible.

What do you suggest ? Run inside a vm ? docker ?

Thanks in advance,

Geraldo

Re: java 1.8 and java 1.7 coexist

you are aware java8 is now available from official repos and  a recent change made it easy to use multiple java versions together on arch ?

For details, check the archwiki java page.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)

Re: java 1.8 and java 1.7 coexist

Thanks for the info. Yesterday I've tried to mix jvms, but I wanted to use Oracle 1.8 from aur, and it conflicted with the alternatives.
I didn't notice the possibility of 1.7 and 1.8 openjdk together.
I'm developing clojure applications, and I think I can use openjdk.

Thanks again,
