Re: wine and quicktax

A few years ago I ran taxcut with wine and I filed a paper return.  05, and 04, were done using online tax programs.  04 was with turbotax.com and 05 was with taxactonline.com.  I was happy with both but taxactonline.com was a lot less costly.  There must be a Canadian version of online tax software.

Good luck

Re: wine and quicktax

Quicktax 2006 Standard installs okay with Wine; I had to use the telephone activation.  Unfortunately I can't get it to do anything useful once it starts running.  A report on Winehq.org says that it runs on Kubuntu after tweeking the Wine config.

If anyone's got it running under Arch, I'd appreciate the help.

If you have WindowsXP you could install it using Vmware or another emulator and go from there.

Sadly, I don't have WindowsXP.  I was hoping to run under Wine alone.  Of course if I had WinXP, I wouldn't really need an emulator.

Well, the point is to be able to use windows without having to boot into windows. So messy....
