Sound and network broken after upgrade

I upgraded today, new kernel and all, and now my network and sound is broken. Any way to fix this? Is it kernel-related?  roll

Re: Sound and network broken after upgrade

"It's broken" doesn't help anyone much.  We can't read your mind, or your harddrive.  You're going to have to provide more information, just as what you have tried, and what error messages are produced.

Just for the record:
Did you read the kernel output about sound modules when upgrading?  The kernel package *WILL* inform you of any changes you need to make.  You can also check the main site news for information regarding this.
As for network: do you have two network interfaces?

Re: Sound and network broken after upgrade

Setting MOD_AUTOLOAD="no" in /etc/rc.conf solved the network. Removed the OSS Compatibility lines in /etc/modprobe.conf, but it still tells me that /dev/dsp can't be opened.  :?

Re: Sound and network broken after upgrade

Change back MOD_AUTOLOAD="yes" but keep the OSS removed and try again...
