Borderlands 2 just came out on Steam for Linux and the game runs great but I can't seem to login into the SHiFT servers (under EXTRA). So I was just wondering if anyone under Arch is able to connect to the SHiFT server. I just get an error saying can't communicate with the servers try again later. Can't figure out what is causing it, missing dependency or firewall or what.

I'm having the same issue, so it's not just you.

Seems like everyone on Arch is having that issue according to the Steam forums.

Anyone else have their level reduced to 1? Mine should be 7 (despite 28 hours logged thanks to a bad dd).
[edit] Actually, I don't have any saves at all.

I am having the same issue. And I have informed Gearbox support about it. Hopefully we will find a solution, I will report back if we do.
[EDIT]
Turns out that the problem was already solved on the Steam Forums: http://steamcommunity.com/app/49520/dis … 722687689/
It is caused by hardcoded SSL locations so it's looking for the SSL certificates where Ubuntu stores them, simply symlinking fixes the issue immediately (Well, here it did seem to require a Steam restart before it took, but still)
You can either symlink the one certificate Borderlands2 needs, or the entire folder (in case another game has the same issue with another cert at some other point in time.)
ln -s /etc/ssl /usr/lib/ssl
or
ln -s /etc/ssl/certs/157753a5.0 /usr/lib/ssl/certs/157753a5.0

Saw that as well and now it works for me.
