[Solved] System volume linked with applications volume

Hello guys,

whenever I change the system volume using the volume slider on gnome-shells statusbar, the volume slider of my application also changes with it.
This behaviour is very annoying, since a change of the system volume have double the effect it should normally have.
How can I decouple the systems volume change from the volume of the applications?

Examples for the applications affected: VLC media player, Spotify, totem, ...
I'm using PulseAudio with ALSA on gnome-shell 3.12.2.

Thanks in advance,
Sonic

Re: [Solved] System volume linked with applications volume

There is a solution on the wiki

I put at button on it. Yes. I wish to press it, but I'm not sure what will happen if I do.  (Gune | Titan A.E.)

Re: [Solved] System volume linked with applications volume

Hey, thank you!
I should've read the comments in the daemon.conf file the last time I tried the solution from the wiki.
I left the semicolon in front of the lines because I thought only the # is for commenting out.
My bad!

It works fine now.
